Following the death of his wife, a grieving father takes his young daughter across the Atlantic aboard their family sailboat, retracing the places where their family once found happiness as the ocean forces them to confront loss, fear and each other.
Beginning in Brooklyn, their voyage carries them through the Bahamas, across the open Atlantic, into the Azores and ultimately toward Greece. Shortly after a terrifying overboard incident, the daughter discovers the logbook once kept by her mother. It becomes a recurring thread through the voyage — part memory, part record, and eventually something the daughter begins to make her own.

Across the voyage it becomes a record of what father and daughter endure together — until the daughter begins to take ownership of the book, and of the story still ahead of her.
